University of Alabama Science & Engineering Complex

Tuscaloosa, AL

The University of Alabama built a new $100 million Science and Engineering Complex for both research and education. The three-story, 253,000 SF facility contains interdisciplinary science and engineering classrooms, laboratories, and support facilities to prepare graduates for the professional practice of engineering.

Project Team

The University of Alabama hired Ross & Baruzzini | EDI to provide audio-visual consulting, programming, budgeting, and design services for the new complex.

Ross & Baruzzini | EDI designed flexible classrooms that provided team-based presentation and collaboration across multiple, configurable displays with lecture capture.

Ross & Baruzzini | EDI also designed auditoria with multi-screen lecture presentation, including interactive surfaces and image magnification systems for laboratory demonstration. Other designs included classroom and laboratory system that provided for general lecture presentation, flexible team/small group collaboration and presentation, and video-conferencing.
