The Veterans Administration periodically updates the master telecommunications and electronic safety and security specifications based on current industry requirements and existing practices. EDI was involved with updating the following specifications:

- Master antenna TV equipment and systems and extension
- Master antenna TV equipment (MATV)
and systems broadband - Public address and mass notification systems
- Intercommunication and program systems
