Brown University embarked on a campus-wide data network upgrade project and hired EDI to provide analysis, planning, design, and project management for this intense project that would take the 239-year old university to a new level of data networking capability. The project had an aggressive 14-month schedule with the added constraint that ongoing university programs, academic courses, and research projects could not be disrupted. Also, the new infrastructure needed to be installed with minimal alterations to existing buildings - some centuries old. EDI established a flexible, team-oriented approach that brought the project in on schedule and significantly under budget. The customer stated “[EDI] proved the concept that ‘rebuilding the plane as you fly it’ was a viable and successful methodology for this type of project.”
