Intriguing Lives Beyond the Office
Featured in the Atlanta Business Chronicle for his favorite activity, EDI's President and CEO Don Kinser is an accomplished white water canoeist. In fact, Don is quite the daredevil - taking on huge waterfalls across the country in his one-man canoe. Don is so taken with his hobby that he also volunteers his time and serves on the national board of directors at American Whitewater (www.americanwhitewater.org), a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and securing access to America's rivers. In the winter, when the rivers are frozen, Don gets his fix for adventure by climbing icefalls.
Brian Murphey, EDI's resident acoustics expert, is also an avid rock climber. While currently on hiatus due to his recent nuptials, he plans to get back into shape for the spring climbing season. Brian was featured in a climbing guidebook and looks forward to traveling the country again in search of great climbing spots.
Not only was Taylor Gonsoulin the youngest person to be a Certified Indoor Air Quality Professional, he also is an athlete. In fact, Taylor runs 35-40 miles per week, taking his dog, Nala, a Vizsla, with him. Taylor should have more company on his runs soon - he and his wife recently had a daughter, and a second one is on the way.
One of our newest team members, Eric Smith, uses his computer skills outside of the office, creating 3-D animated film shorts. His company, Digital Forge, provides cutting-edge animations to companies and individuals in the form of instructional animations, commercials, special effects and entertainment. Check his amazing work out athttp://www.digitalforge.com.
COO Joel Terry recently undertook a tremendous project in his backyard - reclaiming water on land he purchased from his neighbor who was mining sand. Joel is now digging ditches for his water reclamation project, and recently sold part of his property to Cobb County for a greenbelt.
