Corporate Case Studies and Projects 356,000 Square Feet EDI, Ltd. was selected to design the technology for Newell Rubbermaid’s new corporate headquarters in Atlanta, GA. The company is relocating to a brand new building and will be the sole tenant. In addition to corporate office space, the building will have a large conference/ training facility, fitness center, company store, product showroom, and a food service operation consisting of a servery, kitchen and dining room. The main data center that will support Newell Rubbermaid’s corporate offices is in place at a remote location(s). The corporate headquarters building will have a server room with the required telecom rooms as needed to support Newell Rubbermaid’s technology platform. 1,200,000 Square Feet In early 2005, with their operations spread among 10 office buildings, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Tennessee made the decision to consolidate their operations into one complex. The project consists of building a series of interconnected buildings that will house most of its 3,800 Chattanooga, TN employees. It will be quality office space designed to maximize functionality with estimated efficiency savings of more than $3.5 million annually. EDI has been selected as BCBS-TN’s voice and data telecommunications, wireless, and security consultant and designer for this project. We are providing systems design, procurement, and construction observation services for the new complex.
625,000 Square Feet When Office Depot decided to relocate their global headquarters to Boca Raton, FL, they asked EDI to design the data/voice/video structured wiring and audio-visual systems for the new facility. The headquarters will consist of three separate but connected 5-story buildings. The three buildings are being designed simultaneously. In addition there will be a separate central utility plant and parking garage. The systems designed include:

416,000 Square Feet EDI, Ltd. provided technology and security design services for one of the largest law firms in Atlanta, GA. King & Spalding, LLP relocated to a new midtown Atlanta office tower in April 2006. International real estate firm Hines Interests, LLP began construction of the new property at 1180 Peachtree in October 2003. The building is 41-stories and 681,000 square feet. King & Spalding LLP is the major tenant, leasing 416,000 square feet on 17 floors in the building, including the top 14 floors. Walter Driver, Jr., chairman of King & Spalding, said, “The building provides efficiencies of design, space utilization, and state-of-the-art technological capabilities that enhance our efficiency and productivity while accommodating our growing team of attorneys and staff.” EDI’s scope of work for King & Spalding’s Atlanta office included:
225,000 Square Feet The American Cancer Society (ACS) retained Carter & Associates to manage the design, construction, and relocation for the consolidation of its National Headquarters and its South Atlantic Division offices. The combined operation will need approximately 225,000 USF and be housed in second generation space in a multi-tenant building in Atlanta, Georgia. The anticipated employee count at move-in is 850. The project will consist of general corporate office space with a blend of open plan workstations and enclosed private offices. In addition, the new facility will have a 3,000 SF state of the art data center. EDI is providing technology consulting services to help ACS with this relocation. Our scope of work includes the following major project elements:
197,000 Square Feet Powell Goldstein LLP relocated its Atlanta office to One Atlantic Center. The firm occupies floors 3-4 with administrative staff and floors 8-11 and 14-16 with attorneys. The project space is approximately 197,000 square feet. EDI, Ltd. was brought on to assist Powell Goldstein with the relocation and provided the following services for this project:
