In 2010 EDI, Ltd. had the proud distinction of being a member of the award-winning project team on the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Women & Infants Center/Radiation Oncology/POB, which was recently awarded the Design-Build Merit Award from the Design-Build Institute of America. The facility was recognized at DBIA’s annual awards dinner on October 18, 2010. The nine-story, 630,000 sf hospital was completed in December 2009 and has been a great addition to the local medical community. EDI provided the technology master planning, as well as the medical communications and security systems consulting and design for this new, state-of-the-art university hospital.
