From the President
Welcome to EDI’s fall version of EDItion! All of us are diligently watching the developments at the national level related to changes in the healthcare industry. One thing will remain certain – technology will continue to drive improvements in patient safety and outcomes. EDI is excited to be taking part in this transformation by working with clients to deliver solutions and leadership in healthcare technology that provide extraordinary value and confidence.
In this issue we’d like to focus on the role that technology is playing in simulation centers for training medical personnel in situational healthcare. David Drake, president of Drake Systems Group, is an expert in the integration of audio-visual systems in the clinical environment and is making his first guest appearance! Welcome David!
Also, please enjoy our updates on recent projects and some of the “goings on” from around EDI’s offices.

Imagine the possibilities of displaying rich visual information from diverse medical data systems, physiological monitoring, videoconferencing and an interactive collaborative desktop all in the same intuitive ad hoc dashboard. Now the crux: imagine accessing this visual information from across a hospital's enterprise network—or from anywhere in the world.
