The Internal Revenue Service in Atlanta had 5,000 associates spread out amongst 8 branch locations throughout the city and wanted to consolidate all associates into one 6-floor building, the Peachtree Summit Federal Building. This new 600,000 sf building has state-of-the-art technology infrastructure and systems, including a 3,000-agent call center. EDI worked with the relocation team and the design-build contractor to coordinate the design and installation of the structured cabling, telephone systems and call centers, data center, and the Local Area Network. EDI managed the relocation planning process and then worked with the IRS to execute the relocation plan over 8 consecutive weekends.
