Baptist Health realized that in order for their EMR systems to continue to grow and thrive they needed to upgrade their critical supporting infrastructure. Their existing data center was out of space, power, and air conditioning. Another problem they faced was their IT staff was spread out in various locations, both on and off campus. Their solution was to purchase an older facility in which to construct a new, hardened, and improved data center. This space also allowed them to house the entire IT staff in one convienent location. EDI served as the overall program manager and lead design and construction consultant. Additionally, EDI provided relocation planning, design and management services during the 5- month phased migration.
