Donald E. Kinser

Chairman, President & CEO
Don earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from Georgia Tech in 1983 and an MBA from Georgia State University in 1993. He is a registered Professional Engineer and currently maintains Professional Engineering status in six states and a NCEES National Council Record. He founded what is now EDI, Ltd. in 1986 at the age of 27 and has led EDI’s transformation from a mechanical consulting engineering firm into one of the nation’s leading data/voice, security, audio-visual, and network technology consulting and engineering firms.
He was elected President of the American Council of Engineering Companies (ACEC) of Georgia for 1999-2000 and served as the National Director for Georgia in 2000-2003. He was proclaimed Georgia’s Engineer of the Year in 2001. Don has served ASHE as a member of several national committees including: Emerging Trends Committee in 2005, NFPA 99 Task Force in 2006, and Technologies/Clinical Engineering Committee in 2008 and 2009. He has served on the Board of Directors for the Georgia Chapter of Healthcare Information Services Society (HIMSS) since 2007 and as Chapter President for 2009-2010. Don was one of three primary authors for the new communications section of the 2010 FGI Guidelines for Healthcare Facilities. He is a frequent guest lecturer in the Health System program at Georgia Tech’s College of Industrial Engineering.
Don is an avid outdoorsman, whitewater canoeist and kayaker, and mountaineer. He is an active volunteer for American Whitewater and the Boy Scouts of America. He has served on American Whitewater’s Board of Directors since 2003 and is their current President. Don is married to Nanci, his wife of 25 years, and they have 3 children.
Jim P. Harrison

Jim has been with EDI, Ltd. since 1991 and currently serves as a Principal, Project Manager, and Atlanta’s Managing Director. His expertise focus is information technology systems and data centers.
Jim helps clients understand their options and works with them to develop effective IS and communication systems. His extensive knowledge of technologies processes and procedures, combined with his knowledge of construction methods, means new systems and projects are put in place and brought on-line trouble free and on time. He has completed over 1,000 design and construction projects in corporate offices, government facilities, hospitals, colleges and universities, and data centers, including some of the largest projects completed in the southeast.
His experience includes evaluations and needs analyses, cost comparison studies, contract evaluations, materials specifications, and construction project management. Jim designs structured cabling, security, data centers, voice, and wireless systems.
T. Jerry McDonell

Vice President
Jerry is a Principal with EDI and has been with the firm since 1990. He has logged over 3 decades in the design and project management of building systems. His expertise includes planning, programming, designing, and oversight of procurement and construction. Jerry’s extensive experience benefits a project's organization in the programming and schematic design phases and provides an experienced interface to other construction trades throughout the project. He also has significant experience in contract and construction management.
Mark S. Gross
Chairman of HealthSystems Consultants, Mark has over 30 years of experience in healthcare information technology in the US, Canada, and Europe. Among his accomplishments, he was Director of Health Industry at IBM, Managing Partner of the HCIT Practice at Ernst & Young, and Vice President and Managing Director at First Consulting Group. Mark has strong interpersonal skills and considerable experience working with clinical, financial, and administrative executives. He brings 3 decades of experience working with healthcare providers and suppliers in all aspects of information technology, with an emphasis on clinical and executive IT solutions.
H.E. Barney Burroughs

Barney Burroughs is a technical consultant in the field of Indoor Environmental Quality and is a recognized expert in Indoor Air Quality and Air Cleaning. He is the President and CEO of Building Wellness Consultancy, Inc., a consulting firm specializing in IAQ diagnostics and training, filtration, and related IAQ and Building Health, Safety, and Security issues. He is a prolific author of numerous papers/articles and is a lecturer on IAQ and frequently leads seminars on that and related subjects.
Mr. Burroughs founded in 1971, and was Chief Executive Officer, of Purafil, Inc., a manufacturer of specialty gas phase filtration, until 1986 when he left to take the leadership of ASHRAE and to pursue his consulting activities. He was a Rector Scholar, graduating from DePauw University in Greencastle, IN. and was granted the prestigious 50 Year Community Service Award from that institution. He currently resides in Atlanta, GA.
Barney is currently on the Board of Directors at EDI, Ltd., where he previously worked as a Principal.
